The wonderfully-named Lavender was (for eight years or so) the Hon. Mrs Cecil Campbell, who had most of her success in Egyptian tournaments in the late 1920s/early 1930s. The Hon. Cecil Campbell was Irish-born, and eventually ended up playing Davis Cup for Ireland, although he could also have previously played for Great Britain. He spent much of his later life in Egypt. He was found shot dead in Cairo on 11 May 1952. He had been ill for a long time. He was president of the British Chamber of Commerce in Egypt at the time of his death.

The abovementioned divorce was on the grounds of Cecil Campbell's adultery with a Mrs Martha Courtney in London in the summer of 1933.

Played the French in 1932. The official French site French for 1932 lists her as Mme Michel (not Marcel) Bernard, but could be in error. If it’s Marcel her husband ranked #7 in France in 1932. Marcel Bernard was born 18 May 1914 and living in Boulougne in 1932. (Source: Lowe’s). Note that if she did marry Marcel he would have been quite young when wed.

If she is Mme Marcel Bernard he was quite prominent-winning the French in 1946.

Eldest of the 4 Bourgeois sisters, she founded her own high end fashion shop and couture line in Paris in 1932. Her specialty was sportswear. Though not as talented at tennis as her sisters Germaine and Yvonne, she was nonetheless an excellent golfer and did play tennis, so it is possible she competed in some tournaments.

Husband Alfred was captain of France's ice hockey in 1920 to 1928 and head of the French selection for the Olympic Winter Games of 1924 and 1928.
