Kvitova is 2nd to Li in USO series points. She needs a semi in New Haven to win that & get biggest bonus

I'm looking forward to Caro's first match in New Haven. Would be really nice to see her winning a title again.

On the one hand it'd be a bummer to get such a tough, early match (kinda like Vika and Serena last year). On the other hand, it's in all likelihood the last chance Caro will ever have of beating her.

Venus is another interesting prospect. Unless she actually wins Cincinatti, she'll be a floater at USO. If Caro doesn't get a chance to erase her 0 against Kim, I wouldn't mind her getting the chance against Venus, whom she hasn't played since she was 17.
My math was correct.

Damn that was close, she really has to step it up soon or the AO will get very tricky.

Yes, she's still part of 'the inner circle'.

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 5

It happened to jankovic. She finally dropped out of the top 30.
Unless Caroline starts winning more matches, draws keep getting tougher & it gets tougher just to get out of the early rounds, at Premiers. But she can play more Int'ls
Its a big advantage to be high ranked. If Caro keeps like 2012, you'll see the full effect in 2013

Tough draw for Caro. I'm not sure what to expect results-wise but the effort level should be pretty good.

Good luck Caro.

Sorry, but I think this post is over the top. Caro = JJ? Are you kidding me? When you look at JJ and a lack of interest she's showing for tennis it's an insult to Caro to compare her with someone like that.

Caro has been having a lacklustre season for her usual standards but her career is definitely not a downward spiral such as JJ.

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 5

I hope so. Its been almost a full year without a title.
Jankovic isnt awful, she's been to a final & 4 semis this year, same as Caro.

Caro used to win almost half the tournaments she played. So this is new territory.
She won this title 4 years in a row but its possible she wont win any title this year.

So lets see what happens. If she's losing on hardcourt to Pavlyuchenkova, then things arent going well

JJ used to love tennis and smiled a lot on the court. After's JJ 2008 season where she finished #1, her 2009-2011 seasons have been up and down (year end rankings of #8, #8, and #14), inconsistent before the flop of her current season (currently ranked #34).

Sorry but I'm lost as to the relevance to the argument suggested. The two have little in common except for the sport they play, and its a huge stretch to try and statistically define their personalities like this.
