Re: 2012 RACE TO ISTANBUL YEC (After US Open) - Sharapova, Azarenka & Serena qualifie
I think the YEC will be:
1. Victoria Azarenka
2. Maria Sharapova
3. Serena Williams
4. Petra Kvitova
5. Agnieszka Radwanska
6. Angelique Kerber
7. Sara Errani
8. Marion Bartoli

Come on Aga, please be the next to qualify. She must qualify before Petra "spare tire" Kvitova!

Anyone know Na's schedule? Marion is down for Guongzhou which has a ridiculously easy field so she very may well win and be 500 behind Na going into Tokyo and Beijing. Marion is down for Moscow too.

Don't forget, though, Marion is at a disadvantage because she's played more tournaments than Li, so it won't be long before she starts running up against the 16-tournament limit.

I believe she has played more than 16. 21 events stated in her race rankings.

Yeah, but I mean it won't be long before her 16th-best result is already quite a high score, which means a decent result like say a Tokyo QF would yield her very few extra points, whereas the same result for Li would probably yield a lot more points because she'll either not have filled out all 16 of her results or her 16th-best will be a lot lower than Marion's.

^ Marion's 16th best in Race is 120pts.
Na played 14 tournaments.

Damn, 3 zeros? So if she plays Tokyo, Beijing, and YEC, she'll only have 13/14 events going toward her ranking.
