Re: 2012 RACE TO ISTANBUL YEC (Miami Quarterfinals)
So if Vika wins, she could unofficially be in YEC already? The fastest player since when to achieve this amazing feat?

Not inside the Top 20 yet. Serena is currently #23 with 650 points. She will enter Top 20 if she beats Wozniacki.
Venus is far away from Top 20 with 250 points so far this season. A title in Miami will help her break the Top 20.

Re: 2012 RACE TO ISTANBUL YEC (Miami Quarterfinals)
I told you all Wozniacki was going to manage to somehow scrape together enough points to be inside the YEC field at the end of the year

Even a final should do it . As of the second question probably Hingis in 1997 but back then it was a single elimination 16 players draw.

Re: 2012 RACE TO ISTANBUL YEC (Miami Quarterfinals)
Even if she doesn't win another match from here on out until the YEC, she would still qualify. 3500 ahead of #9. It's a done deal. And it's still only March!

its march
She is barely top10 after playing one of her fave part of the season. And she´ll hardly repeat her last year clay season.
