Re: Updates

3/11/12

George Washington upsets #73 Fordham 5-2

- I find it hard to believe Fordham is really ranked #73 and think it must be another administrative error.

#10 Cal def. #28 Utah 6-1

- I wonder how long it will take them to realize and correct that Sarah Pham and not Sammie Watson was the one to upset #44 Tayler Davis. This win over Davis may be enough to get Pham ranked again which would help Anais Dallara if they catch the mistake.

#32 Nebraska upsets #30 Tulsa 6-1

Kansas St. upsets #40 Oklahoma 4-3

San Diego upsets #55 Sac. St. 5-2

Nice STACK by USD... WOW. Obviously the USD coach is desperate to win... I mean really?

HOWEVER, I will say Meliuk at six has been a stack all season. She has been Sac State's # 3 for three years and has a very very good winning pct. Then she suddenly is at 6 this year and usually rolling people... until this date... where apparently she didn't want to play????

Re: Matches of the Week - 2012

I don't think it's a stack, after all Coupez WAS #1 before and fully deserves the position imo. Depenau is also VERY solid, if Claus is rusty after a long absence it's understandable imo

When they clinched at 4-0, it was convincing, and then concerns came when the final score is reported as 4-3. Do they have the fitness, and mental tough for long matches? Or only better skills

I don't think any of that should be a concern...Texas is a good team and USC was convincing in their 4 wins. They had to retire at 1 position. Lao lost a close third setter to Damico who can have really "on" days. And I don't know about Desimone. But I think USC showed mental toughness in overcoming losing the doubles point often at NTI and they are one of the fittest teams out there.
