The Kanepi prediction is pretty bold too. However, she has made the QF of three slams before. I could see her having a clay season very similar to Petrova 2006. She's a good clay-courter who is capable of snatching wigs when playing well.
She could easily end the season top 10 if things go right.

Damn, that was going to be mine  I genuinely see it happening now it's moved to clay, I picture a semifinal loss to someone like Kanepi or Mattek-Sands.
Others:
-Ivanovic will make a Slam semifinal and win a title other than Bali
-Zheng Jie will win an Olympic medal
-Clijsters will NOT have retired by the end of the year.

Corswandt, who would the under-21 basher at the US Open be? The highest-ranked player who would fit these two criteria right now IMO is Jovanovski, and I don't think she's going near a Slam any time soon.

Suitable candidates all still in the #100-200 range right now. But the USO is still so, so far away. And we'll witness massive personnel changeover in the #40-120 range over the next few months.

- Mladenovic will be the next breakout star of the tour.
- Kvitova won't make it to #1.
- Pironkova will medal at the Olympics.
- Goerges will go into a massive slump and finish the year at the bottom end of the top 100.
- Someone in the #100-200 range will make the SF/F of Wimbledon.
