Tennis Journalists and Experts: Petra Kvitova to win the Calendar Slam

‏@FortyDeuceTwits
Current debate on press row: Setting SW aside, which WTA player would be the most likely to win the Calendar Slam? Current consensus: Petra.

I can't wait for her to dominate

Discuss! Agree or nah?

Re: Tennis Journalists and Experts: Petra Kvitova to win the Calendar Slam

I doubt any player will. But if she's the fitter, leaner and more focused and switched-on Petra we have been told about and are hoping for then yes she is probably the most likely. It is still against the odds.

Seriously, except Serena and Petra there is not another player who can win calendar slam.

Re: Tennis Journalists and Experts: Petra Kvitova to win the Calendar Slam

I see no lies. Only player other than Maria and Serena who is capable of slam-winning heights on all surfaces.

EDIT: On second thought, I do see a lie: the thread title, which does not at all reflect the question asked or answered. No one is predicting that Petra will do it. They are simply saying she is the least unlikely.

Mari and Simona. But seriosuly none of them will do it. Not without a fair amount of good fortune.

To the opinion of experts. Petra has all the weapons to shine but she is a player who can do that only in some patches of the season, not all year long. She will never win the career GS. I would actually consider an extreme success for her winning some other slam than Wimbledon. Should she prevail Mandlikova and her 4 GS titles (to become the 2nd best Czech player ever), that would already be delicious, but I really do not expect her to do that.

Too much optimism. We are speaking about Petra whose fans (that have already learned a lot about her) tend to be much more objective than those from Halep, who are still persuaded, shes gonna be the next big thing.

I personally predict her to get 1-2 slams more. Petra does not seem to me that much determined and willing to be the one...Nevertheless, I would surely be absolutely delighted to find out later on, that I was mistaken (in terms of GS titles won by her).

i dont think there are 3 Halep(not only on TF ) fans who think Simona will win a Calendar Slam . stop talking shit . Petra is billions more times overrated/overhyped by tennis fans than Simona .

No lies. Serena, Petra and 2012 Vika in that order are the only ones with chances however small.
