Thought this was interesting because they have many career similarities. Both started doing very well at the end of 07, both made the QF of the USO both had some big notable wins over top players, both out with back injuries indefinitely.

Who had the better game of the two? The more potential? Both showed very promising prospects at the end of 07' but didn't or couldn't capitalize.

Szavay is younger, won 3 more titles, won more money, won 54 more matches, and won a higher overall percent. Only a fanboy (plenty on here) of Golovin would try to say she's more accomplished.

More potential, that sort of thing? I guess that's up for debate.

That's not entirely true. They looked just as promising, if not more than Radwanska and certainly Petkovic. Then again, there was a time when you could say that about Dokic, comparing her to the Belgians.

Both had nice serves, good footwork, and a good forehand and good backhand, respectively.

She hadn't quite got everything together before she got hurt though.

For me it's Agnes, though just narrowly, because she has more titles.

I like Szavay more, but it's hard for me not to say Golovin. I feel like she would have done better because she was good on all surfaces, while Szavay only excelled on clay and slow hardcourts. And Sluti also had the character that would have taken her further than Szavay.

Golovin for sure. She really had the talent to be in the top 10 and if injuries had not plagued her, who knows where she could have been career wise. She reached a career high of 12 and had a great forehand, she would have been one of the players to watch. I never got that when I saw Szavay play. I saw her as a solid player but Golovin is the player who showed the most promise to be a real contender on a consistent basis.
