Yes. But you're also "wanna be starting something."

OTOH a poll would have been good for this topic.

Because she has some features typical for men or resembling rather man than woman. It's probably rude, but that's how caricatures work.

Hmm . .we're varying into dangerous territory now. It's either that having that perspective is sexist (IMO it is) or it isn't. Otherwise anyone can say any woman "looks like a man."

I'm afraid I don't understand. Wiki says that sexist attitudes may stem from traditional stereotypes of gender roles, and may include the belief that a person of one sex is intrinsically superior to a person of the other, which is something I don't find in this video caricature.

That's a portrayal of her said "rather man resembling" features ad absurdum.

Re: Is this a sexist portrayal of Mauresmo?

Of course it is, it's sexist and homophobic. Momo has been the victim of disgusting abuse throughout her career from various bigots in tennis. The most (in)famous incident is probably Hingis calling her "half a man" at the Australian Open 1999.

Didn't know Serena took part in this, too. Shame on her.

Momo almost always managed to stand above these insults, after all they say a lot more about the person who does the insulting than the person who is insulted.

Re: Is this a sexist portrayal of Mauresmo?

It's just not funny.

It's sexist in the idea that women are expected to conform to a certain stereotype of appearance, but mocking Mauresmo's muscuality in a skit with Serena in it is simply bizarre. It would be like mocking Hantuchova for being slender in a skit with Shaughnessy as the protagontist.

In the end, calling it sexist or homophobic borders on being a compliment.

It's just lame.

Re: Is this a sexist portrayal of Mauresmo?

Yeah, definitely is. Interesting how it has not received the same kind of uproar as in Serena's case. Possibly because it's the race issue also, I think. And Mauresmo wasn't so mainstreamed as Serena. Anyway, doesn't make it wrong any less.
