ys, Yevgeny answered all your questions in his post-match interview.
Yeah, he was up and down during the match. But I like the way he fought back to win the 3rd set tie-break. It was funny seeing his facial expressions when he had doubts about the net during the 2nd set, he tried to serve but stopped a few times and starring at the net peculiarly.
Hopefully he can get over his jet lag and play better against Goran. With Goran playing rather well yesterday, I will expect another hard fought match.
Great match vs Goran.. Amazing first set.
Hopefully Zhenya won't make the mistake and plays Guga the best he can. After all, it is not an exhibition. It is like one-off 20 points tournament. Yevgeny's chances of becoming #1 at some time
in 2002 are getting bigger and bigger. The only person that can prevent him from doing that at this point is Hewitt.
"..just knowing that as long as i choose life, there is hope."
That match was simply an awesome show of how Yevgeny can really play when he is at his element.
His focus was 100% and his execution of shots perfect.
Very depressing loss to Grosjean. ..
Right now, Hewitt is crushing Ferrero, looks like Yevgeny can retain his improved #4 position in the race rankings.
"I guess that was one of those days... I felt so flat I
couldn't play three consecutive shots," the Russian said
"I don't remember when I played that terrible in a grand
slam ever. But I have to take it and that's that."
