Re: Womens Tennis in General

I propose we separate into factions for the Sharapova/Azarenka semi final. Clearly Jimmie48, TennisFan66 and (I believe) Protoss are firmly in the Azarenka camp, that leaves me and Chrissie-fan to cheer for Maria. If anyone else wants in on this you are more than welcome but it could get ugly. Who is with me?

I don't think anybody will confess to that publicly

There's just something fundamentally wrong about rooting for Sharapova

So it's Team Vika vs Team Sharapova?

For the purposes of this upcoming match at least, I'm on Team Vika.

You're on Team Sharapova?

Time for some friendly, good natured trash talking.

Vika is going down, my friend. Like the wall of Berlin.

I figure we need to cheer for/against someone so this will do.

I really don't have a favourite but your fellow member of team Vika (Jimmie48) is getting a little too big for his britches and he needs to be brought down a couple of pegs so I am throwing my support behind Maria.

If we get a Vika/Serena final I will do an aboutface and hop on the Vika bandwagon (at least for that one match).

Re: Womens Tennis in General

In the battle of the wooooo of the peacock vs the roar of the lioness I'll root for the Siberian lioness. I usually root for Maria anyway (leaving aside when she's playing only a select few), so I don't see why it should be any different in this case.

Eh, not really. It is hardly courageous of me to pick the overwhelming favourite. Who knows, maybe Ana will shock us all and do the unthinkable and Sara will not have to worry about Serena?

What do you mean?

Seriously, because nobody except for a few of us here know who she is anyway, because she doesn't seem to post much here anymore so she's probably not even aware of it and finally because my signature is getting rather crowded. But ok, she can stay.
