Petrova's returning and ground game were poor after play resumed.

There's a good chance Petrova would have won this match without the rain delay but Petrova's brain makes it far from certain.

Recorded the Sharapova vs Petrova match and only just saw it.....

I must say, if I hear eurosport commentators hold a sermon one more time about tennis etiquette I think I'm going to explode. Give me Bradnam, Reed, Smith and Durie instead of these sissy cry babies. Not that they don't have their 'holier than thou' moments as well, but this new team (or temporary replacements for the USO) seems to be employed exclusively for the purpose of spoiling what would otherwise be great entertainment. If only my television set had a 'no commentary' option.

I like Sharapova and her in your face attitude. And if it bothered Petrova (which it probably did) that's a good thing from Maria's perspectve. This is professional sports goddamnit - not an innocent little game to round of a pleasant little gathering of friends in the club around the corner. Sharapova reminds me of why I loved Jimmy Connors so much while everyone else hated his guts. They care, they are intense and they would do anything to get a win because at the end of the day that's all that matters.

I don't mean to ruffle any feathers, but all I can say is that the more the 'tennis etiquette' people are on her case the more I root for her. Go Maria!!! What a competitor!

Anyone know who else is appearing at the Hansol Korea Open this year? The information on the official site seems to be all about previous years. Usually this close to a tournament there is at least a current entry list posted.

I kind of go back on forth on "unsportsmanlike behaviour" but ultimately I think I am for it (to a degree). It makes the matches a bit more exciting. Things would be a little boring if everyone was all nicey-nice all of the time.

Was Sharapova's loss to Caro at the US Open 2010 really a surprise? They were discussing Sharapova's US Open results after 2006 and Davenport called that loss a surprise. I'd say her 2007 (Aga), 2009 (Oudin), and 2011 (Flavia) losses were surprises.

If you ask me, Sharapova's already using up her leeway for this kind of stuff with her grunting. Adding on top of that with those ridiculous antics is just too much, especially if she's playing a much lower-ranked player.

Pretty pathetic that she has to resort to such tactics to win a match against Petrova if you ask me...

Than you don't know me as well as I thought you did. People can disagree with me, and on this ussue I'm sure that most DO disagree with me, and I respect their opinion. But one thing I can't be accused of is changing my tune or having double standards depending on which players are involved.

Jinkies! I didn't see any of the match but a 6-0 set for Ana? Very nice. The second set looks much closer, she just broke to level it at 3-3.
