Oh god I hope that don't happen maybe if she win a title or 2 they over look it but they should atleast give her another year consider she been playing good through out 09-11.

Robson is a big girl, I can't see her wearing Caro's dresses, but I guess you never know.

Re: Womens Tennis in General

Just a big congratulations to Laura. Kim then Li - what a tournament for her. I hope they don't pile the pressure on her with unreasonable expectations. I remember how they heaped up the pressure on Melanie Oudin and then went on at her when she wasn't able to live up tp the hype.

It doesn't take much to become a female celebrity in the UK, but usually the fast-track is to have an affair with a married footballer .....

That said, on a serious note, should Adidas drop Caroline, I am not sure Robson is high profiled enough, but of course we'll see.

She deserves to be a celebrity more than 95% of those that are celebrities. Some of them are just famous for being famous, others because they lip-synch and wiggle their ass a bit to the latest assembly line moronic pop drivel or because they are as you say having an affair with a football player. If Laura Robson is or becomes a celebrity it will at least be because she is good at something. And she seems to be the real deal. She has got a good head on her shoulders and improved a lot over the last year or so. She strikes the ball very well, has improved her movement beyond recognition and she keeps cool under pressure. She's only eighteen which is very young by todays standards and she's already beating top players. Makes you wonder how good she'll be one or two years from now.

Re: Womens Tennis in General

Vika is absolutely destroying Zheng so far, 4-0 up in the first with two love games in a row.

She has looked nothing but stable and confident so far this week, almost flawless.

Yes, I'm happy overall with Li's tennis recently. The collaboration with Rodriguez looks very promising. I think she'll have a good rest of 2012 and 2013 season. If Li hadn't lost today she probably would in the next round against Stosur. I would rather see Li play Serena, Vika, Kvitty or Maria than Stosur because Sam's topspin is a nightmare for Li and against anyone else she has at least a fighting chance. I'm curious to see how Laura will handle it. There's no pressure on her because she's already had a terrific tournament no matter what happens, but if she keeps it close she might have a chance against Sam as well.

Makes playing warmup tournaments seem kind of pointless.

Zheng actually plays a good game and breaks for 0-6 1-3.

I really like how determined Vika looks in every single rally though, you can tell losing that game pisses her off.

6-0 6-1 in 59 minutes.

Not bad for R3.
