Re: Womens Tennis in General
Jimmie48 should be pleased with Azarenka's performance at the Olympics. Bronze in singles and either Gold or Silver in mixed doubles, not a bad result at all.

Re: Womens Tennis in General
Yep, too bad Sabine & Kas didn't make the dub finals as well, that would have been even nicer

I don't like their chances but bronze is still a possibility.

Re: Womens Tennis in General
Looks like Vika's gold has to wait until Rio, no chance in the first set so far.

It is a biggish tournament but she may want to skip Montreal and go right to Cincinnati. She would take a bit of a hit on points but it might be better for her to take a break and start playing again when she is well rested and at her best.

Poor Bine crying after losing the bronze match in the TB, she wanted that medal so bad.

Sabine crying? Huh, I'll have to find the video of that. She's usually so composed and stoic, seeing her show some emotion will be a rare treat.

Re: Womens Tennis in General
I'm watching Tamira Paszek vs. Julia Goerges, these ladies both have a similar hypnotic quality about them but I just can't put my finger on what it is. I find myself almost in a trance watching them, why could that possibly be?

Jesus Julia. Seriously, I don't get this girl...breadstick against Paszek on harcourt...if she keeps this up she'll leave the Top 30 rather sooner than later.

She was pretty awful. I believe in the last game of the match she didn't get a single first serve in and every other point she was spraying balls wide or long. I still can't believe that Caroline couldn't beat her back in February to make the final in Dubai. She has been pretty awful all year, even on clay. I really hope that Caroline gets another chance to play her this year, it would be great if she could get a win over her after losing to her three times in a row and surely on a hardcourt Caroline should be heavily favoured. Julia's got that win over Agnieszka in the Olympics but otherwise this has been a very bad year for her.
