Moving to Melbourne next week...
Hi guys
I'm moving to Melbourne for hopefully a year (coming over on a working holiday visa from the UK).
I don't know if this belongs heres or not, but made sense to me to post it here.
Anyway - does anyone know any good tennis clubs in Melbourne? Preferably one with a club night where I could turn up, play and meet some peeps etc.
Cheers

Kooyong is a nice club, always pass it on the train. The train stops right in front of it, it has grass courts, clay courts (which I think isn't en-tout-cas) and the stadium (which I don't think you're allowed to play in)

Re: Moving to Melbourne next week...
Best to find one near where you will be living! Do you know where you will be living? What suburb? How old are you and what level do you play at?
Clubs like Kooyong would be no good as you need to know a couple of members to be accepted as a member/visitor.

Ahh good to know there are many...!
There's about 2 in the whole of leeds here and both very expensive and far away from me.
I'm initially staying in St kilda, depending on where and if I get a job will probably decide where I'll end up looking for a long term place to stay.
Ausboy: I'm 26 and my level is solid, intermediate etc
If anyone wants a match let me know

Re: Moving to Melbourne next week...
St Kilda Isn't it really busy there though?
Beach is nice tough
I think theres a tennis club there were it is the same surface as Melbourne Park although you do have to hire the court and it is pretty expensive (or cheap, depends how you see it)
or thats Albert Reserve..
Not sure about St Kilda..
