Yeah, an Ana - Donna doubles team sounds really cool. I'm eager to see that happening someday

OMG, ashamed to admit it, but I kind of...sort of...forgot about that final So yeah, we can assume that she could probably play a half-decent doubles match - silly me

Bombshell
It looks like Jaksic lost to Andrei. Easier job for Ana now

Re: Ana Konjuh
i hope ana gets invited to fed cup as our number 4. assuming miki is out, it would ideally be petra, donna, darija and ana imo, with petra/darija in doubles and petra/donna in singles, we could finally have a breakthrough

My thoughts exactly, although I don't think we'll get this line-up. Darija was either not invited in recent years, or she never accepted an invitation. Mrdeza is more likely to show up instead of her, but I really believe Ana will be there as #4.
Capt. Iva will definately have sweet problems in the coming years with all these great youngsters.

Abramovic/Tomljanovic in this year's Bad Gastein
And if we'll count ITF's as well, there are even more recent cases; Mrdeza/Njiric playing in a French 50k this past July, and Njiric went on to play with Popovic and Akiki in the following tournaments - the last one was as recent as a month ago( ).
P. S. I dug all that after about 3 minutes of searching, so there might be even more examples.

Re: Ana Konjuh
Welcome to the top 900, Ana!
If she loses tomorrow she'll be 870-875. If she wins she'll be 840-845.
Either way, there won't be anyone younger ranked higher (she overtook Tornado Black today).
She's moving up the rankings fast

Re: Ana Konjuh
Andrei (313; CH 312) will be Ana's highest-ranked opponent so far in her career, and the first one in the top 400 (almost top 300)
Andrei won $10K Dubrovnik three weeks ago. On the other hand, last week she lost to Poznikhirenko, who in the following round got destroyed by Ana 60 63.
Let's see what happens tomorrow. Good luck, Ana!

I'm not holding my breath. It's true that the first two courts were showing play yesterday. Unfortunately, it seemed to be two-day-old first-round matches (Bukta-Vdovenco and Platon-Brunamonti)
