Ana Konjuh

Born 27.12.1997
Ok guys I followed this girls developement for quite a few months now.
Last month she won the European Junior Championships, Pilzen for girls under 14.
Other success she had this year:
Winner of G16 Junior Croatia Open, Cakovec
Winner of G14 Mladost Grill Open, Zagreb
Winner of G16 Kvarner Open, Rijeka
Also reaching a G16 final in AvignonFR and a couple of SFs.
This year she has a win-loss record of 48-7 currently. With those 4 titles.
She seems to be highly talented, there´s a lot of potential, hope she´s not going to fade away and go her way.

People might say it´s too early for a thread but after twinning the European Championchips I though she would deserve a own thread.

Re: Ana Konjuh
Ana played her first Junior ITF event this week in Split.
The G5 Expetion Cup in Split - Croatia.
32 W Iulia SERGHEEVA (MDA) 6-1 6-2
16 W Andrea IVANOVIC (SRB) 6-0 6-2
QF L Dorottya JONAS (HUN) 2-6 1-6
Considering this being her first ITF Junior event I think it´s a huge success for her winning to matches there. Good luck to her.

Re: Ana Konjuh
It seems a bit premature for a thread, but OK
Best of luck to Ana!

Re: Ana Konjuh
Ana Konjuh must be extremely talented. She's currently ranked #1 on the Tennis Europe U14 rankings, and #20 on the U16 rankings (she's still only 13!).
This photo is after the final of the European U14 Junior Championships, July 2011, when Ana Konjuh (right) defeated Belinda Bencic of Switzerland:
Here are some photos of Ana at the ITF World Junior Tennis Finals, August 2011 (source: ITF):

Re: Ana Konjuh
Ana is a very talented player for sure. Does anyone else think she looks like a prettier version of Wickmayer?

Re: Ana Konjuh
Told ya, this girl is amazingly talented.
Another win for her, against Barbora Stefkova who is 32 months older and has a ranking of 199 (CH199). 6-4 6-4

Re: Ana Konjuh
Looks like Croatia will have great fedcup team.Vekic, Martic, Konjuh....
It's amazing that someone who is just 13 play that good on G1 level.Last year Vekic played this tournament in Umag and lost in 2nd round.Ana is now younger than Donna last year and she is already in 3rd round and beat # 33 in the world...
Well we have another junior to look on (Vekic, Coric, Konjuh....)

Re: Ana Konjuh
In 1/8 final, Ana is playing against Ostapenko who is also born in 1997. and she is already #175.This could be interesting...

Re: Ana Konjuh
Unfortunately, Ana lost: Jelena OSTAPENKO (LAT) defeated Ana KONJUH (CRO) 6-3 6-1.
At least we do have one Croat in the QF: Marijana VLAHINIC (b. 1995) easily beat the #12 seed, Deborah KERFS, 6-0 6-3.
