Re: Julia Görges - Official Live Scoring thread
Bad tiebreak from Julia, but a decent performance overall.

Re: Julia Görges - Official Live Scoring thread
Well, it wasn't meant to be. Still, it was a great tournament for her which surely will give her a lot of confidence. Proud of you, Julia
You also have to give credit to Bartoli, she is just a fighter.

Re: Julia Görges - Official Live Scoring thread
Damnit, I wish she would at least lose to likable players and not f***ing Bartoli.

Re: Julia Görges - Official Live Scoring thread
But all in all it was a decent tournament by Julia, she fought and didn't give it away. Always play like that and you'll comfortably be in the Top 20 Julia.

Re: Julia Görges - Official Live Scoring thread
Commentators are right. "Hopefully Görges will be very disappointed about this loss." But she will just say she will learn from it... Bartoli just did not have the up and downs Görges showed. She is ranked where she is for a reason and Julia is as well.
Still a good tournament.

Re: Julia Görges - Official Live Scoring thread
Completely fucked up tie break in the end. Julia performance just showed again why she's the mediocre player we have seen this season. At least she really showed passion and a will to fight in this tourney.

Re: Julia Görges - Official Live Scoring thread
Performance was Ok, she fought again, similar scoreline as in Tokyo last week..again she was set and break down before she came back and even had chances to win 2nd set, disappointing TB obviously but that wasn´t surprising.
Served better in 2nd set, but it is always difficult against Bartoli anyway, her game just doesn´t suit Julia as much as Stosur´s game for example and Bartoli was really strong over 1st serve and hit those Aces when needed.
A shame that Julia couldn´t advance her, Suarez Navarro would have waited for her , missed the chance here for another highlight of the year but should be absolutely satisfied with her performance here in general, hope she just realizes that it is always worth to fight, even on bad days, hope that she will show much more of it next year.
Linz and Luxembourg to follow, tournaments which Julia likes, especially Luxembourg, should be able to finish the season with decent results and then work on the things which she has to improve.
And about the TB, I mean, Julia served great at 44 and 55 and had some chances then for the set, but whenever it was important Bartoli hit some good 1st serves again instead of DFs, same in the TB where she just didnt give any easy points to Julia while Julia made two or three of her "usual" mistakes which decided it in the end, that´s a bit frustrating but also shows why Bartoli is top 10 and Görges "only" top 20/30.
Her attitude and fighting spirit was still totally fine this week and losing to Bartoli isn´t a shame anyway.

Re: Julia Görges - Official Live Scoring thread
Julia/Barbie won the first set 7-6(6). What a close match, a shame that it isn't streamed.
