Re: US Open Series 2011 | Carlsbad
ah, well, won´t complain too much, her latest results were really great but this time is really annoying again, how can anyone can waste so many chances? and that happens too often to Sabine, that she just can´t take her chances, 3/12 Bps, had 0-40 at 32* and of course gets broken afterwards....other main problem of her: 1st serve percentage

Re: US Open Series 2011 | Carlsbad
Another loss to Zvonareva Showed alot fight to come back after the first set but missed too many chances and lots of double faults and bad serving I very much dislike Zvonareva!

Re: US Open Series 2011 | Carlsbad
of course over, GSM Zvonareva, Sabine can only blame herself for that defeat, too many chances which she didnt use, a shame that this happened again, thought that she would be able to handle such situations better now after her latest success!
Good to see at least that she is obviously able to beat the top players although there are many things which she has to improve!
Fitness could be better, already some problems again although she only played two tournaments in a row now, not able to take her chances and her serve is too inconsistent (1st serve % also too low in general) and yet she is almost top 20, so if she keeps improving she will definitely hard too beat but right now she still has to work and learn a lot...still another good tournament for her with 3 wins, now one week off , I hope she uses that time well!

Re: US Open Series 2011 | Carlsbad
What really drives me crazy is that Sabine would work so hard to earn a break point then gets a second serve from Bepa only to dump it to the bottom of net or hit it 2 ft. long.
She really needs to improve her return of serve.

Sabine was so close to a 4-2 lead in the 3rd. She would have won this...

No consistency, no focus, no win. It's unavoidable.

Frustrating isn't the word! She CAN beat Vera!!! Someone hypnotize Sabine into believing it!!! I cannot see anything in Bepa's game that Sabine cannot overcome!
But I agree with others...her game needs work & greater variety.
At least she's still heading onwards & upwards.

Re: US Open Series 2011 | Carlsbad
I think some people are a little bit too critical.
I think, apart from the first set, she has played a solid match, especially when you consider that she and her father were thinking about retiring after first set because of physical problems..
Yeah, she made some too many errors and didn't take her chances, but it wasn't terrible and you can't expect her to beat topplayer after topplayer. This tournament was another good one after that she will end up with a new career high.
Now she can rest a week and hopefully build on that.
