Is Yayuk Basuki retiring?
Or is she planning on playing more doubles next year?

i don't know about her playing singles! maybe she could ask for a wildcard here and there in asian tournies in singles!
does yayuk have a family? i know she intended to raise a family with her hubby after her first retirement in 1999 but i'm not sure if she gave birth to any children!?
how many tournaments did she play this year...9??? maybe she thinks she can't handle playing singles and she might not be able to handle it even though she is only 30 (31 in 10 days)
you can't just decide you want to play competitive singles tennis again! you'd have to work hard, train hard, put in lots of hours into it and i don't think yayuk is prepared to do that... especially having to train in indonesia for 4-5 hours per day as it is stinking hot there!
but back to the topic... i don't think she'll be retiring! remember one of the main reasons she came back on the tour was to help be a mentor for prakusya! plus she isn't embaressing herself on the tour! her performances have been quite good! i hope she plays wimbledon singles next year! that would be great!

I asked her at Pattaya if she still be in the tour. She siad she will play only double bot not too often. The reason is she still want to meet her friends in the tour. She have already gave birth ( I did not ask her, boy or girl).
She still be a dangerous player in doble, please believe me. I watched she played double with Tammy VS Asa/Iroda.
Hope she has a happy family.

Yes Vixen, I thing she is pretty well set up. I read an aritcle where it was mentioned that Yayuk was sponsoting Wynne (for her to get a coach and a physical trainer), whic is extremely kind of her, isn't it.
For Jiro : where were you sitting for the match of Yayuk / Tamarine against Iroda / Isa. It is not possible we were both at so many matches and did not see each other.

No, Yayuk seemed obviously to be a very nice person. She was very often with Wynne and Tammy.
I was quite surprised too to see that she hit Ka Po. She obviously apologised and seemed sorry but... she could have done it a third time during the match I felt. Ka Po was however too scared at that time and moved slightly away. Yayuk had then only to conclude the point easily. She managed very well to intimidate her opponent at the net.
Tammy was as sorry as Yayuk. Sunday morning by the way, she was at a tennis clinic for local kids. It was fun to see her looking after all these kids.
I think both Yayuk and Tammy extremely nice, but when it comes to a match, some players seem to get carried away at some stages...
