Re: Do you scream when playing tennis?
I've never screamed unless I was doing it as a joke. Then I go Larcher de Brito. I don't hit hard enough to justify grunting.

Re: Do you scream when playing tennis?
I grunt, scream, shriek, howl, bark, whatever it takes to throw my opponent off.

Re: Do you scream when playing tennis?
I grunt a bit when matches start to get tough and I'm really exherting a lot of energy. It's not really a scream more an exhale/grunt and its not that loud. Maybe a bit like Pat Rafter.

Re: Do you scream when playing tennis?
I'm actually putting my body weight into my shots when I do. I was at one point going to play for college but then decided against it, so I understand the whole club players shouldn't really grunt. I had a groin injury for an entire season and all I could do is play like Monica, and suddenly I found myself doing the male version of her grunt because I had to swing as hard as I could so that I wasn't running all over the place. In normal circumstances, it's a breath.
I do love the Lindsay Davenport unforced error scream though, and I'll do that on occasion.

Re: Do you scream when playing tennis?
Sometimes I grunt during serves, or when I'm trying to unsuccessfully smash the ball.

Re: Do you scream when playing tennis?
Yeah, that's the next piece I want to do. Like I said, the method I'm using isn't good at all! Haha. So yes, I'm going to update this file and provide some detail on how to use the plist and file-derived arrays.

Re: Do you scream when playing tennis?
I do a Wozniacki-style 'grunt' - as in, I always loudly inhale right before I hit the ball, then exhale upon contact. I find my footwork/timing is messed up if I don't do that.

Re: Do you scream when playing tennis?
I don't scream but I do exhale when I hit the ball now, I use to just hold my breath until I've hit the ball but now I let it out at the hitting point. I found that it helped me alot, most of the time when I hit those balls they are more powerful and much more controlled. It timed them much better, I guess it's because I'm less "tight". I'm tryin to do it more regularly as it's not natural to me. That being said I doubt it makes a loud noise, maybe if you'Re really next to me yu'd hear soemthing but nothin annyoing or embarassing lol

Re: Do you scream when playing tennis?
Never, seriously I would make a total fool of myself. Besides (I've tried it once on a private tennis court on vacation) it only serves to make my strokes more uncontrollable so it doesn't work for me.
