Does Riske remind anyone of Dementieva?
And where has she been, she has some serious game.

Re: Does Riske remind anyone of Dementieva?
She reminds me more of a Amy Frazier with the way she hits the ball, very flat.
Can't see the comparison with Dementieva, Elena was a much better mover and far more consistent, and Riske has a better serve and is much more willing to come to the net.

Re: Does Riske remind anyone of Dementieva?
I know Riske personally. Not that well, but she lives 20 minute away and is a year younger than me, I've seen her play and talked to her many, many times over the past 8-9 years. Never thought I'd be seeing her on Ct. 1 at Wimbledon.

Re: Does Riske remind anyone of Dementieva?
She has come to the net more times in this match than dementieva did in her entire career.
I like her game, but don't want her to win

Re: Does Riske remind anyone of Dementieva?
I think this is just another case of one of those classic matches at the beginning of a slam.
A young newcomer who has nothing to lose playing against a top player.
I feel like we see it once at a slam or once every other slam.

Re: Does Riske remind anyone of Dementieva?
Whatever happens here, it speaks volumes about her character to recover like this after losing the first set 6-0, especially given the fact that this is the biggest match of her career by a mile.

She has potential on grass though, remember her SF run at Birmingham last year?

Re: Does Riske remind anyone of Dementieva?
I meant looks wise not game wise, their features are very similar.

Re: Does Riske remind anyone of Dementieva?
But she volleys really well so far, which is more than what you can say for some of the newcomers.

Re: Does Riske remind anyone of Dementieva?
Riske is no slouch, especially on grass. She has beaten Wickmayer on it and taken a set off Sharapova on it. She won 3 75K's in Europe last fall back to back to back. She isnt a nobody and has showed she has game numerous times previously.

Definitely.
She doesn't remind me of Dementieva, though.
