But it's need check this result because Lance Tingay's "The Guinness book of tennis" shows Mabel Davey Clayton as winning (without runner-up's name).

Defending champ Leslie Bancroft was unable to defend her title due to an infected tooth.

Molla Mallory wins her thrid consecutive Seabright event and takes permanent possession of the Cup.

Leslie Bancroft wasn't defending champ. The previous year she was runner-up (see post #35 in "1922 results"). And indeed there is also contradiction with the last above sentence: "Molla Mallory wins her third consecutive Seabright event and takes permanent possession of the Cup."
