Barte and Gibbs are both playing really subdued, which is understanable. However Barte usually plays w/ so much emotion -- it is hurting her -- she is down a break again.

Well that is the end of Barte's collegiate singles career. She had been playing so well the last 2 weeks I thought she had a really good chance to take the whole thing. I hate to say it, but it ended w/ a Whimper, not a Bang.

However, she had some great years at the farm -- playing no. 1 all 4 years and help lead her team to a National Championship.

That's what I've been saying. She and Kristie Ahn should have been 1 and 2.

Hopefully Nicole wins it all! I think she has a great shot if she keeps up her current form.

Hilary at 3? No, Hilary deserved to play #1 this season and I don't think this match should necessarily cast doubt on that, she played terribly and I'm sure emotion played a large role.

Hmm then I did the right thing to move to the lower courts after the 1st set.

After her loss, Hilary Barte looks back to the rest of the courts on Taube Stadium. Barte just finished her last singles match of her collegiate career.
