I had brief contact with Monica last year after writing a review of her book "Getting a grip" on Bleacher Report. She seems a very nice person.

I don't know if the fact that she is a (youth) writer now is actual news but it's definitely true. The first book will come out in 2012

i remember reading about her starting a book series for teens as well.
I had the pleasure of meeting Monica at Grand Central Station in 2001, i think, and she was awesome. She was there to promote the US Open and American Express and hung around afterward to meet fans, take pictures, sign autographs. Quick to smile and laugh and very sweet.
