Re: NCAA Tennis Championships, MAY 19-30, 2011, Taube Tennis Center, Stanford Univers
2011 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships | First Round
No. 18 USC 4, No. 42 Saint Mary's College 1
Saturday, May 14, 2011 -- Berkeley, Calif.
DOUBLES
1. Chikhikvishvili/Poorta (SMC) def. No. 4 Christian/Sanchez (USC) 8-6
2. Kinstler/Pulido (USC) def. Jullien/Soper (SMC) 8-6
3. Bukajeva/Isip (SMC) def. No. 77 Andrews/Ramos (USC) 9-7
Order of finish: 1, 2, 3*
SMC wins doubles point
SINGLES
1. No. 2 Maria Sanchez (USC) vs. No. 46 Alexandra Poorta (SMC) DNF
Maria lost the 1st set She needs to buckle up, since she HAS to win against Juricova or there's no Stanford
2. No. 24 Danielle Lao (USC) def. No. 80 Catherine Isip (SMC) 6-1, 6-0
3. No. 103 Kaitlyn Christian (USC) vs. Anna Chikhikvishvili (SMC) DNF
4. Alison Ramos (USC) def. Jenny Jullien (SMC) 6-2, 6-1
5. Valeria Pulido (USC) def. Claire Soper (SMC) 6-2, 6-1
6. Cristala Andrews (USC) def. Alita Fisher (SMC) 6-0, 6-0
Order of finish: 6, 2, 5, 4*
USC doubles singles
Especially Alison I frankly thought USC might lose after the doubles
Reminds me of Alison blanking Hojckova at the Indoors regional (before being blanked by )
Really shocking and depressing result for SMC, since USC is not even UCLA('s level).
So is it PAC10 >>>>>>>>>> WCC >>> BIG WEST?

Re: NCAA Tennis Championships, MAY 19-30, 2011, Taube Tennis Center, Stanford Univers
#17 Arizona State 4, #40 Mississippi 3
May 14, 2011 at Atlanta, Ga.
Singles competition
1. #34 Kristi Boxx (MISS) def. #19 Kelcy McKenna (ASU) 6-2, 4-6, 6-3
not surprising, since Boxx defeated Will at Riviera.
2. #12 Jacqueline Cako (ASU) def. Connor Vogel (MISS) 3-6, 6-3, 7-5
Not a good score for Cako..
3. #70 Micaela Hein (ASU) def. #110 Caroline Rohde-Moe (MISS) 6-4, 6-3
4. Laura van de Stroet (MISS) def. Hannah James (ASU) 1-6, 6-3, 6-3
James lost a lot of 3 setters, especially after winning the 1st set ASU needs her win
5. Abby Guthrie (MISS) def. Michelle Brycki (ASU) 7-5, 6-3
 ASU also needs Brycki's win
6. Sianna Simmons (ASU) def. Vivian Vlaar (MISS) 6-4, 6-4
Doubles competition
1. #25 Micaela Hein/Kelcy McKenna (ASU) def. Kristi Boxx/Abby Guthrie (MISS) 8-6
2. Gabby Rangel/Laura van de Stroet (MISS) def. #67 Ashlee Brown/Sianna Simmons (ASU) 8-2
3. Michelle Brycki/Hannah James (ASU) def. Connor Vogel/Caroline Rohde-Moe (MISS) 8-2
Cako didn't even play doubles
I thought ASU might struggle

Lao played well, but Isip was really ill. I also heard Lao wasn't in the lineup, but ended up playing. Possible mistake.

There was a LONG rain delay for the Gators. They had to wait for AZ and SC to finish and then go on. I know they started in the evening. Maybe 5pm? I don't know

I just experienced the most maddening period of my life
The worst traffic EVER
It wasn't even a road, I was trapped in the public 'garage' (parking lot)
Went to 24 fitness center and did not street park as usual, but parked at the garage since it's 1hr 30 min free if validated.
I did validate it, but waited in the car for I think more than 20 minutes
The parking structure isn't even a BIG one, it's a small one
Right across the street is PMCA (Contemporary art center or something) and there was something being held there, and just about finished, maybe that's the reason why.
But still... incomprehensible Why do I have to be stuck for the precious 20 minutes !!!
I raged and raged...
^&^&%&$^&$*$&%^#R^@%!@#$!$!$!#$! (only older than 18 )
And finally arrived at the ticket machine.
I paid none
I think this is a 'portent' for tomorrow's clash between USC and CAL!!!
So much worry but the Trojans will pull it out!!!
(sorry guys for writing all over the board but when ELSE would a WNCAA fan do this )

Re: NCAA Tennis Championships, MAY 19-30, 2011, Taube Tennis Center, Stanford Univers

3. Suarez-Malaguti/De Bruycker (UNC) def. Pavlovic/Radunovic (UW), 8-1
Order of finish: 3, 2
So splitting CHAN/DY didn't work
Singles
1. #13 Zoe De Bruycker (UNC) def. #4 Denise Dy (UW), 6-1, 7-5
DEFINITELY the MIP of the year
2. #16 Venise Chan (UW) def. #108 Jelena Durisic (UNC), 6-4, 7-5
3. #74 Shinann Featherston (UNC) vs. Samantha Smith (UW), 6-4, 5-2

NCAA Women's Tennis Championships First Round
Linder Stadium at Ring Tennis Complex
Gainesville, Fla.
Saturday, May 14, 2011
No. 35 South Carolina def. No. 34 Arizona, 4-2
Doubles:
1. Marks/Smyth (UA) def. #40 Morgina/Kanakova (USC), 8-3
2. Landsman/Stubbe (UA) def. Jocic/Popova (USC), 8-6
Not that surprising
3. Stoic/Pereira (USC) def Mc Rann/Huh (UA), 8-4
Order of finish 1, 3, 2
Singles:
1. #44 Anya Morgina (USC) def. Natasha Marks (UA), 3-6, 6-1, 6-2
Shows Marks not even ranked is a travesty
2. Sarah Landsman (UA) def. #96 Dijana Strjic (USC), 7-6, 6-1
Maybe the most consistent member of the team, Landsman.
3. Lacey Smyth (UA) led Katerina Popova (USC), 4-6, 6-2, 3-2 DNF
Should've won this
4. Dominika Kanakova (USC) def. Kim Stubbe (UA), 6-4, 6-2
Stubbe quite promising at the SW R, but not exactly a good finish. I thought she would win this one.
5. Adriana Pereira (USC) def. Susan Mc Rann (UA), 7-6(4), 6-3
6. Milijana Jocic (USC) def. Jane Huh (UA), 6-3, 6-2
Order of finish 4, 6, 2, 5, 1

Too bad, UA actually COULD'VE pulled it off. Well, they can be stronger next season..
PAC 10 IS strong
