I was really doubting that he would ever win another slam so this is very sweet. It's also nice that he tied and will break Sampras' record for having the most weeks at number one.

There was a show back in the Dinosaur Era,when American TV shows actually had some trace of decency(in stark contrast with the current Manure Mill),called 'Perry Mason',starring noted actor Raymond Burr.The program was a bit formulaic as you'd expect from a legal drama,yet the characters were watchable and the storylines were relatively good.There was a district attorney named Berger who virtually always opposed Mason's character,and he lost virtually every case as the innovative Perry found a way to prove his client's innocence(it may have been only once,but Berger DID win...though Mason's client turned out to be guilty in that case,IIRC).However,Berger always cane across as competent;he was NEVER a buffoon as with the Colonel Klink character from 'Hogan's Heroes',and Mason was genuinely respectful towards his frequent adversary(who presumably won tons of cases whenever Mason wasn't on the other bench).

Andy Murray reminds me of D.A. Berger quite a bit;unlike his multitude of thoroughly unlikable Swishy Punk comrades in the ATP,Murray conducts himself with class in a gentlemanly manner and,like Berger,he has the misfortune of being talented...but not quite good ENOUGH...to break through versus the true greats.There'll likely be a Weak Era very soon in the ATP(Top-to-bottom,it's quite weak NOW but that's offset by the greatness of Fed,Nole,Rafa),and Andy will probably win that Slam that'll cement his legacy in men's tennis history.It may even happen sooner as Fed has undeniably gone past his prime(though still remarkable)...and Rafa's knees might give out as a consequence of those supplements he took in his early years.If someone manages to upset Nole...possibly even Andy himself if he plays over his head...then he'll not only get off the schneid,he'll become a bona fide British(Scottish) sports hero.It wouldn't bother me if he got his Moment of Glory

Yes, Danish media appears to have gone over-board times a 1,000. Apparently TV2 was comparing the Løchte's dubs win to Euro '92 and Magic 60's triumph in France in '96 ...

PS Interesting how 3 consecutive Olympic GOLD medals in women's handball is usually left out of Danish sporting glory.

Speaking of Tour de France,a few years back--prior to my move home--the gringos were plastering Armstrong's face all over TV and advertising...telling us all what a great,inspirational story it was.One could try to argue that the Americans didn't know,but I have my doubts b/c it was plainly,visibly obvious that their baseball players were jacked up...and the gringuitos were celebrating record-setting baseball stats as if the records were legitimate.I'd say that they WILLFULLY stuck their heads in their asses and refused to breathe the air of Reality.Then again,their level of integrity has been proportionately opposite their non-stop b.s. propaganda in re their supposed global moral leadership status---for QUITE some time now
