Margaret Lumia (54yo) - oldest newcomer ever?
srsly, how does it comment on WTA doubles?  This lady is 54 years old and was in the SF of 10k last week with... Lenka Tvaroskova. Is it some sort of a record?
partnering Lenka TVAROSKOVA (SVK)

That´s because she had a good partner  
She needs 10 points or 3 tournaments with points to be in rankings though, SF in 10k is not enough |

it's her 3rd tourney over the year where she won at least a match

Former world #23 and Wimbledon doubles champion Joanne Russell played $10,000 Williamsburg in October 2009. Less than a month before her 55th birthday.
There have been some over 60 years old playing US ITF-s qualies, I beleive.

There is also Elizabeth Freeman-Young, who only played her first event aged 47. Played WTA Cincinatti qualifying in 2005, while 50 years old.

Good for her! If she's got the money to do a little bit of traveling and play some tournaments, she might as well if she can compete!
