Ashley Harkleroad and Andrea Hlavackova kicked off the first match of what promises to be an exciting week, as both women provided a three set epic!! However, though the match was close Harkleroad fough in the end, looking to get her form back in track! Hlavackova will be disppointed as she has had a very consistent year so far, but I am sure Hlavackova will fight back in the doubles, while now having more time to prepare for Indian Wells and Miami!!

After a dominant first set off Ivanovic, it looked as if Ivanovic could do no wrong coming into the Second set, however Robson got herself and form together, out hitting the powerful Serb on the court, achieving an impressive 6-2 6-2 victory in the second and third set!!

Gone are the days when she would get angry with herself, after a close first set loss today, that would have troubled the Russian mentally in previous matches in the past, however the Russian beauty dug deep to win a comfortable second and third set against an in form Czech in Karolina Pliskova, who has had some fantastic results so far this season! Great win for Anna Kournikova here today!
