Re: Alexandra Cadantu
Step by step, she only won 2 games against Falconi in her 1st match on grass - by this rate she may grab a set against Yakimova next year,

Re: Alexandra Cadantu
ITF 100k Bielle, Main Draw:
(7/wc)Johanna Larsson (SWE) v Q
Olga Puchkova (RUS) v Q
Claire Feuerstein (FRA) v Jill Craybas (USA)
(4)Alexandra Cadantu (ROU) v Stefanie Voegele (SUI)
Mission title defense, here we go.
Good draw to say the least.

Re: Alexandra Cadantu
'Haided' her way past Voegele in 3 sets. I only saw the decider and she was flawless there apart from her second serve which is still as shaky as leaves in the automn breeze.
Feuerstein next in R2.

Re: Alexandra Cadantu
Routined Feuerstein quite easily 6-3 6-2
Claire pretty much self-destructed in the end, but Alexandra won literally all the important points of the match.
Larsson next in the QF.

Re: Alexandra Cadantu
I feel like Alex is gonna have a Parmentier-like career. Too good for ITF but not good enough for WTA

Re: Alexandra Cadantu
Lost to Larsson in 3 sets, missed an easy volley in Romanian style when serving to stay in the match, Game over.

Re: Alexandra Cadantu
that's quite a worrying loss because JoLa is in such a poor form

Re: Alexandra Cadantu
I watched from the 2nd set onwards and she was actually very solid in the 2nd set, despite not winning any free points on her serve.
In the 3rd she started to hit some errors in the end when she got tight and missed that volley, other than that it was a very even match from what I've seen.
However, Larsson needs a backhand and Alexandra a 2nd serve.

Re: Alexandra Cadantu
That was actually one of her best matches I've seen so far (as much as the stream allowed me to). Very consistent, good defense, but always ready to be agressive when the possibilty was there to do so.
How Bertens won a WTA tournament is still beyond me, though.
