Re: MoritaManiacs2011
Thanks for the pics! She looks in great shape!
Seems to be feeling good, yesterday she won 6-4 4-6 6-1 over Jie Zheng, and today she beat Casey Dellacqua 1-6 6-0 7-5. Into Brussels QFs
Great job Ayumi! I was a little scared in the third set against Zheng yesterday, she almost went down a break early on after losing momentum in the 2nd, but she ran away with it in the end.
And of course after today, to come back from that first set against Dellacqua who beat Shahar Peer is a good sign.
It's her second career WTA Quarterfinal on clay She reached Strasbourg Semifinals in 2009, beating Shuai Peng in the QFs who incidentally she has to play next. It will be difficult but please fight for revenge for AO and Charleston, Ayumi-chan!

Re: MoritaManiacs2011
Sorry, it's Schiavone she is playing now in the Quarterfinals.
Schiavone leads 2-1*
Play well, Ayumi!

Re: MoritaManiacs2011
Down *1-4. She's not playing badly, but she doesn't seem to be very settled. Keep fighting Ayumi, doesn't look like Schiavone is in the best of shape.

Re: MoritaManiacs2011
6-2 3-0*
She just does not look comfortable or confident on clay. Her movement is really rigid and she does not get into position well, as the commentators pointed out, she does not slide on clay and that really gives her an immediate disadvantage against clay-court specialists like Schiavone. I hope she works on that before next week, because her ball striking is good enough. Keep trying, Ayumi!

Lost but now another great tournament. She should be proud and best of luck in Paris!

Re: MoritaManiacs2011
She is losing 6-2 1-1 to Mladenovic in Roland Garros. Seems to be making a lot of errors. Keep fighting Ayumi!! You can still win this one.

Re: MoritaManiacs2011
She is playing really well on the return of serve this set, seems to be picking it up a little. But Mladenovic is pumped up.

Re: MoritaManiacs2011
Ayumi served for the set at *5-2 40-15, but then hit 3 errors.
She still has a higher winner/error ratio for this set (14/11), but please close it out!

Re: MoritaManiacs2011
Second set won 6-4
15 winners and 13 errors
Just 8 and 12 in the first set, so she's definitely playing better.
It seems to me that Mladenovic doesn't like to lose her rhythm, so if Ayumi takes her time and cuts down on the errors a little, she can win this match and get the 100 points, and on clay!

Re: MoritaManiacs2011
3-3 in the final set, Ayumi led 3-1. She is making too many errors! Fight Ayumi!
