Re: Caro's Comebacks
Caro came from down 4-0 3rd set against Cibulkova in the 2nd round of Sydney to win the set 6-4. That was the 1st time that Caro has won a match on the senior level being down a double break in the 3rd set.
I think that the last time Caro before that match that Caro came back from down a double break in a set was against Petkovic in the quarters of Stuttgart last year. Caro was down 4-1 1st set 40-15 and Ad Petkovic (Petkovic serving) but rallied to win the set 6-4.

Re: Caro's Comebacks
I was looking up the results of some Caro's early years on the tour and found out about a few comebacks I didn't know about:
Against Woerle in the quarters of the 2006 $25k Civitavecchia challenger: down 6-4 2-0 but won the set 7-6 (6), down 3-0 3rd set 40-15 but won the set 7-5.
Against Hrozenska in the quarters of the $25k Istanbul 2 challenger: saved 3 match points.
Against Brianti in the final of the 2007 $75k Ortisei challenger: was down 6-4 2-0 but won the 2nd set 7-5 and the 3rd set 6-3.
Against Foretz in the 1st round of Memphis in 2007: Foretz served for the match at 5-4 2nd set and 6-5 2nd (double faulted on a match point there), down 3-0 in the 2nd set tiebreak but won it 7-5 and the 3rd set 6-3.

Re: Caro's Comebacks
Now her career needs a comeback. Thats the story now. Can she become relevant again?
I dont understand why she never took this slump seriously. She needed to go months & months without a title to finally listen to a coach, and he never coached before.

Re: Caro's Comebacks
She doesn't really need a 'comeback', she is still a top 10 player . Even top 20 is a great position to be in. Losses happen, it's not the end of the world.
Her new coach never coached before. So what? Every coach started once.

Re: Caro's Comebacks
Thats true. If she still stays in the top 20, even if she doesnt win a title, she's still an elite player.

You can make that your mantra all you want to but it won't become true. For a player that has been #1 for 67 weeks and who hasn't faced a serious injury, Top 20 is not a great position to be in.

Re: Caro's Comebacks
Caro came from down 7-6 (5) 3-0 2nd set 40-15 and Ad Hsieh (game points) against Hsieh in the 2nd round of Beijing to win the 2nd set 7-6 (3). She would go on to win the 3rd set 6-0. This was the 1st time that Caro came from a set and a double break down to win a match as far as I'm aware.
Caro came from down 3-1 3rd set against Stosur in the final of Moscow to win the 3rd set 7-5.
