The problem is they only have one scholarship available so once they offered it they had to hold it so they might have lost some prospective players. I would expect they would now offer it to Kiick but I personally would offer the scholarship to Jennifer Brady if I were them because she won't be going pro and she's both a great singles and doubles player.

Don't we have two scholarships? Gorny is leaving this year and we don't have anyone coming on next year to replace her, and then Clayton graduates next Spring.

Victoria Duval and Samantha Crawford would be a nice combination!
No but seriously, we have two scholarships to fill...

Possibly. I believe they are holding Gorny's scholarship (which ends in December when she graduates) for Grace Min. The Duke coaches are treating the 2013 class as if they only have 1 scholarship because they believe they will land Grace. But if Grace chooses elsewhere (or goes pro) and they can't find anybody else (such as a foreign player) worthy of the spot they will hold the scholarship until 2013. It honestly just depends, but I believe they will end up having the 2 scholarships available for 2013.

Not sure Victoria Duval will be going to college. And I really don't think Samantha Crawford will end up at Duke (as I have not heard anything about her being interested in Duke at all). Your best bet would be Allie Kiick (who also might go pro) or Jennifer Brady ( who I believe is very interested in Duke as she has visited 2 or 3 times now - although Carter visited Duke 3 or 4 times and look where she ended up ).

Oh my goodness if we got Grace...I'd be very, very happy. Let's put it that way. But mostly I just want Capra to stay. Can I sign some petition or something? STAY BEATRICE!
Capra/Kahan
Min/Goldfield
Mar/Clayton
Capra
Min
Goldfield
Kahan
Mar
Clayton/Turewicz
Dangg we'd be good

Not surprising but she hasn't been that impressive lately. I would think Georgia could do better than King and Ayaka Okuno.

Was browsing tennis recruiting and noticed that Carter's verbal committment to UNC is no longer listed?? Does anybody know anything about this?

More than likely they're going to be doing a feature on her decision. That's happened before.

Oh ok thanks tennisbuddy12! That makes sense. See my mind always seems to go to the worst case scenarios and it immediately went to her decommitting- I guess I'm still recovering from Lynn Chi decommitting from my Tar Heels I don't think I could handle it if Carter changed her mind too

^ She's going. Was all decked out in her UNC gear yesterday, was talking to (I think) an assistant coach, was hanging out with Whitney Kay and the other UNC girls that were there watching. Have no fear!
And I've been meaning to respond to that PM you sent me a while back. I'll get to it, I promise.
