Re: The New Music Thread
Interesting there's some Gotye discussion. That big hit of his has grown on me a lot. When he sings the chorus he reminds me of Ozzy Osbourne for some weird reason, particularly when I watch the video .

Eh, wrong iamamiwhoami is for poseurs. It's a viral propaganda. The hype is fed by the mystery and strange video's, not the quality of music. Besides they haven't been around long enough to be held in such regard . Music reserved for connoisseurs includes Morrissey, Mitchell, Bush, Young, Dylan (early work), Bowie, Björk and more recently Newsom. Check those first

No offence, but those are the typical alternative-lite choices. Not taking anything away from those amazing artists, but musical connoisseurs are going to look a bit further to find something less easily digested; for example, Cocteau Twins, Nico and My Bloody Valentine.

None taken! I don't listen only to alternative though, as my last.fm account will prove. Lady Gaga is my most played artist and Lil' Kim is up there too!

Oh I see. I thought SNSD was some boy band.
What's Gee all about anyway? That's probably one of the few songs I am addicted to. Plus it's so damn catchy!!! Much better than The Boys. So boring and generic.
