I'm sure her ranking will go upwards over the next few months, she had such a strong Australian Open and finished it with a great fight against Clijsters, even if it wasn't her best match. She played so well in R1, and then fought so hard in set 1 against Martinez Sanchez before crusing in the second. She should be really pleased with her tournament and take a lot of confidence from it!
Get that ranking back where it belongs Alize! |

  Well done Alize, with a dodgy ankle too. First fed cup singles win! But I have to say I feel for Sveta, first that heartbreaking loss to Fran, now a tight loss in fed cup to give Alize her first ever fed cup singles victory. I've always liked her too, but Alize needed this win more, after all Sveta has won quite a lot in her career. Slams to boot.
Maybe this win is a sign of things to come. |
