Re: 19 successive junior slams in a row won by different girls: WTA's future reflecti
Some junior Grand Slam winners flop but there are quite a number who go on to be very successful.
Some Junior Grand Slam winners: Henin, Hingis, Davenport, Capriati, Mauresmo, Wozniacki, Jankovic, Austin, Sabatini, Petrova, M.Maleeva, Dokic, Rubin, Schultz, Pavlyuchenkova, A.Radwanska and Bartoli.
Some Junior Grand Slam finalists: Clijsters, Sharapova, Ivanovic, Safina, Kuznetsova, Chakvetadze, Vaidisova and Schett.
Other players who played Junior Grand Slam events: Graf, Sanchez Vicario, Schiavone, Stosur, Li, Dementieva, Myskina, Molik, Majoli, Lisicki, Petkovic, Date-Krumm, Coetzer, Kvitova and Martinez.
In fact the only WTA #1s that haven't reached a Junior Grand Slam final are S.Williams, V.Williams, Graf, Sanchez Vicario, Goolagong Cawley, Seles, Evert, and Navratilova. Serena, Venus, Seles, Navratilova, Evert and Goolagong Cawley didn't ever play juniors and Graf and Sanchez Vicario only played a few events. So generally in recent years all WTA #1s did well in Junior Grand Slams.

Barty lost. Garcia and Min are in the final. Neither have won a junior Grand Slam before. So streak goes on to 20.

As was just report above, the streak is still alive! We're now going to tie the all-time record of 20 different winners in a row!

Is this a good thing or a bad thing? I'm really not sure.

Only Mestach and Barty can break it. The others aren't there or are too old.

According to the entry list, Mestach withdrew on Tuesday and Barty on Wednesday: http://www.itftennis.com/juniors/tou...n&gender=Girls

Didn't Pavlyuchenkova beat Wozniacki is AO junior finals in 2006? Baby Fat 3 won junior slams in the span of 12 months.

That's no surprise. Usually junior have no consistency and have a good tourney one week and in the other they lose in the first round.

You are correct. Those were the golden days when Pavlyuchenkova was much better than Wozniacki and won slams.

I would rather say that now once a girl won a Junior GS they tend to focus on pro and stop playing junior events. Except when the #1 junior spot is up for grabs.
