Re: St. Mary's Invitational

Who is Katie Le?

Beat Isip and lost in a 3 setter against Taylor Davis.

Re: Big West - matches 2010-11

I don't think Isip is a peaks and valleys player. I mean, she had nagging injuries that bothered her and has played like crap in practice. Don't be surprised if she wins the doubles title and singles backdraw.

How do you know about UCI? Their webpage hasn't been updated yet. Hmm..should I visit?

And what bandwagon? Just an observation Like you said, it's early, but who knows. Maybe Regional will tell us more.

Isip beat Montez last year and also McKenna last season. She isn't bad. Oates, she's actually one of the most solid position at Pepperdine, although she didn't finish well last season. She also beat Michigan player, she was the sole winner.

Re: St. Mary's Invitational

Poorta def Bisharat 1,1 a bit shocking. Maybe Poorta can defeat Gibbs too? Ooh, that match could be exciting.

Goransson also defeated McVeigh. G is doing really well so far.

Congrats to Dallara for winning the Cal St. Fullerton Tourney!

Dallara showed it pays off to be in better shape than your opponent.

Losses to currently unranked Dallara, Ferrazzi and Soper certainly doesn't help Malenovska's chances of beating out Widjaja for the Big West singles auto bid when Widjaja also defeated Hein.

Dallara losing to Christian (who beat Hein and Coupez today), Alawi to Coupez is not a shame(I rate Coupez at similar level with Trunk). Did Malenovska lose to Landsman? L is no. 2 of UA and was pretty good against Cossou at Ojai, so no shame either..

On the bright side Alawi's score against Coupez makes me feel a little better about Schweyer who lost to Coupez by an identical score. Plus Schweyer took a set from SDSU #3 Julia Wais.

Re: Big West - matches 2010-11

I'm intimidated to post in the Big West forum because you guys are such experts and sometimes flamethrowers, but from the Northwest Regional at Stanford I'd put in a good report for the UC Davis team, and Cal Poly. UC Davis had a good presence at the tournament, they were serious players in warmup and approach, and also were having fun and handled the rain delay. Curry and Edles are improving and solid, the new freshmen won matches or pushed recognized name players. I don't know the details of your conference to compare them with other teams, but they are now a team that is worth watching and look like competitors. Cal Poly looks good too, but I expected that.
