And then they lose today. Bad grand slam season for Lucie. This season has been bad for her. The clay season was good but she bombed when it mattered most at the pinnacle of the clay season so ehh.

I think the season has been solid minus the slams, which is the big disappointment. It's all well and good to have good runs to semis and quarters of other events, but you have to back it up at the slams and that's what Lucie has failed to do for about 3 years now. She has made 1 3rd round since 2007 at AO 09, and that's disappointing. Maybe next year can be better, I dunno how she will go at the end of this year and with 200 points coming off next week she will probably drop out of the top 30, so she might not be seeded at AO. But like being seeded has helped her this year

Also, I never expected them to come close to beating the top seeds in doubles, Lucie is an awful doubles player

I really cant imagine Lucie in a doubles match, it's kind of scary Trouble is though in grand slams she loses so early that at least the doubles will extend the experience She's won more doubles matches at slams than singles this year hasn't she? If it wasn't for the fact she probably played at a good top 20 level on clay she would have crashed down. I hope she can salvage something good to end the season on
