I have played on red clay (loved), green clay (disliked it!), carpet (loved), fast hardcourt (loved), slow hardcourt (loved).
I have always wanted to play on grass!

WOW! I can't believe it's so much! In Germany to play outside is free for members of the club!

Indoor hard, red clay and parquet. Indoor hard being the worst surface

Re: How many types of surfaces have you actually played on?
I've played on synthetic grass, red clay, synthetic clay and other random hardcourts but I did play on Rebound Ace once or twice.
I really want to play on real grass!

Re: How many types of surfaces have you actually played on?
In the US, the huge majority of hard courts are Deco-Turf, or a similar concrete-like surface, so I've played a lot on that in parks and against other schools.
I, however, have played most of my life on green clay, Har-Tru, courts, as that's what we had at my school, my club, and most places I went on vacation. Because of this, it is definitely my favorite surface and the one that I'm most comfortable on. It's worth noting that indoor and outdoor green clay actually play somewhat differently.
I have also had the opportunity to play on red clay, grass, indoor hard, Rebound Ace (just once), and that awful synthetic grass stuff that they like to play on in Japan. The one surface I really want to try is carpet, but hardly anywhere in the US has it.
Oh, and during the Sniper attacks in DC, our high school coach would set up a "tennis court" in our gym, which consisted of two trashcans with an extension cord in between them dividing a sleek hardwood floor...

Re: How many types of surfaces have you actually played on?
In Romania, it seems that there doesn't exist anything else than red clay
So, it's not surprising that most Romanian players were/are specialists on this surface.
I sometimes play on indoor hard courts, but I prefer slower surfaces (I'm not the best server )
Wish to have the chance for playing on grass sometime!

Re: How many types of surfaces have you actually played on?
Asphalt, Rebound Ace (actually I think it was Synpave), green clay, red clay, Taraflex indoors, fuzzy carpet indoors (don't really know what it was).
Best of these was green clay, it was just so easy for your feet, fun medium speed, good bounce. Red clay was similar but felt slippery (I guess our shoes weren't proper clay shoes). Synpave was also great. Taraflex was so fast we couldn't properly play on it, even weak serves seemed to whizz by. Asphalt is not great, but alas that's where we have to play 95% of our matches as they're only free courts...
