Re: Sofiya Kovalets Thread
Yea. the thing was that Sofiya was trying her best but her best just wasn't good enough to keep up with the Russian girls. But credits to her, she was fighting the best she could even though she knew that the Russians were going to attack her.
Elina honestly played nothing like the world number 1 junior at all. There was a point that was set up by Sofiya where Elina moved into the net. There, she hit a good shot which Putintseva barely got back with the frame of her racket. With the ball in the air, all that was needed was a simple half smash. Guess what? Elina smacks the ball into the net That pretty much sums up the number of easy shots she missed tonight.

Re: Sofiya Kovalets Thread
I hope it isn't anything too serious. Quite a few Juniors are giving the US Open a miss, so hopefully Sofiya isn't injured.

Re: Sofiya Kovalets Thread
Here's a video of Sofiya at the YOG. Not the best of angles cause of the position I was seating.

I promised to post more pictures of her, but I havn't had the time to sort through the hundreds of pictures I have. Sorry about that, Sugi

Re: Sofiya Kovalets Thread
No problem
Sofiya is going to play a 25k event in the Ukraine in a few weeks. Will be exciting to see how she fares.

Re: Sofiya Kovalets Thread
Thanks for that, Monzanator
Sofiya is into the semis of the Perin Memorial. She also has received a wildcard into the main draw of the 25k event in Bucha next week. I can't wait to see what she can do against higher oposition.
