Shahar beat Govortsova yesterday 6:3 4:1 ret, I think she retired due to heat illness, but anyway nice win and revenge from Shahar after losing to her several time, including the qualies here last year

She already cut the strange 3 losses streak against her in the title run in Taskent, but closing the circle (I'm not sure this literal translation is accurate...) in the crime scene is nice.
She already avenged a '08 loss to NLV in this year's RG, but anyway she couldn't have gotten a better 2nd round draw here.
Next stop however...  |

An expected, routine second round win over NLV, 6-3 6-2.
Pavlyuchenkova is next - definitely better than playing Dementieva who's beaten Shahar 6 times in a row, but not an easy match by any means.

Shahar lost 7-5 4-6 4-6 
After being with a tour best 10-0 record in 3-setters this year following RG, she's now lost in 3 of her last 5 tournaments from a set up against lower ranked opponents. |
