I hope there's a stream for this. I want to watch her play mixed with either Roger or Rafa.

Re: ** Masha News and Articles! ** Vol. 2

I don't think she was at the Pilic academy

When Hogstedt used to train with Li Na they'd go to Oberhaching to train at the Tennisbase.

^^I know. Hogstedt's former partner is from Munich, though and Pilic's academy is the only known quality training opportunity in Munich.

TERÇA-FEIRA, FEVEREIRO 1

Entrevista exclusiva de MICHAEL JOYCE
Maria Sharapova é provavelmente a maior vedeta do ténis mundial.

· SP: Como conheceu a Maria?

Exclusive Interview MICHAEL JOYCE
Maria Sharapova is probably the biggest star of world tennis. Million-dollar contracts, a huge legion of fans, a constant presence in magazines and on television worldwide, however, his fame has a purpose, your tennis!
This was in his blood since childhood, and to pursue his dream, Mary and her parents made many sacrifices, but only proved that young tennis player who risked everything and gave up paid off, winning the coveted Wimbledon in July 2004 with just 17. The victories he had achieved sporting coupled with her beauty and charisma made the young Russian living in the U.S. since age 7, a genuine celebrity, adored and recognized in the four corners of the globe.
His success continued into the court, and in four years the muse of tennis has kept its name and present at the top.
But unfortunately in 2008 the Russian success in the tennis world was caught by a serious injury in his right shoulder, forcing her to resort to surgery and stay away from the courts for about 10 months.
Now, 23 years and the beginning of a new season and stage in his personal life, the Russian beauty has recently become engaged to Sasha Vujacic, Maria Sharapova tries to reach the top again, and so we took the difficult decision to temporarily remove the large friend and also a coach for the last 6 ½ years, Michael Joyce, bringing his entourage, Thomas Hogstedt.
Michael Joyce is the faithful friend of Mary, the one who truly knows. Their professional relationship can be found in "stand by" but not their friendship. The two are like family and share smiles, tears, joys and problems that these facts are demonstrated by the great interview that Michael Joyce gave us.
Michael showed us what lies behind the Russian champion, Maria Sharapova's known to fans, media and even by colleagues, the real Maria Sharapova.

° SH: Tell us a little about yourself, know who was No. 64 in world rankings, has emerged as a taste for tennis?
MJ: I played professionally for 13 years, grew to be coached by Robert Lansdorp.
After my 1st surgery when he was 27 years some people started training in my spare time and really enjoyed.

· SP: How did you know Mary?
MJ: When Maria was 9, she joined with Lansdorp few times a year, and then I hit some balls with it, like a small favor that I did to Robert.
I really enjoyed Maria and her father, she was very dedicated and I knew that, possibly, it would be very good, so I've been following his progress during the time of Juniors.
When I retired from the circuit, was about 30 years before Mary and win Wimbledon they asked me if I could travel with her and her father, but I refused because my mother was very ill and I preferred to stay in home for a while.
A few months after her Wimbledon win, my mother got better and was asked again if he wanted to work with them. It was then that I accepted and started working with Mary in October 2004. I thought it would be only for a few months, but after she won the WTA Championships and the two of us we thought that I was a good coach for her, and started working with her all the time. Now I spent six and a half months.

· SP: Do you know Mary since she was only nine years, then we can assume that they are like family, describing his relationship with Mary.
MJ: My relationship with Maria is close, I love her, and she is like family to me.
I'll never forget the support she gave me when I went through everything with my mother.
Sometimes I can take it to the limit but she knows where I want the best for her.
Together we went through many good things, and some also difficult, as his surgery, and I wanted to make sure she would have my full support, I followed all his rehab, I was always by her side, and I knew she needed me because when you're on top you have many friends and people you love but do you really need someone when things start getting tough and it all looked like the true champion he is.
The injury that she had been very serious, and it is very difficult to return after an injury like that. Most people have no concept of how much she had to work just to get back playing again.
His determination and his focus back on was more impressive to me than winning any tournament, would have been much easier for her to give up and turn away, because he has enough money and fame.

· SP: Maria hit a lot of success very early, what do you think was the basis for this phenomenon?
MJ: I think the success she had so early was a bit unexpected for everyone and even for her, but life is full of surprises.
She set the bar too high a level when it was still fairly new, but also proved he deserved to win three Grand Slams.
Of course her life has changed, but it has not changed as a person, and this is the most important thing.

· SP: Everyone knows that Maria is a real phenomenon in terms of marketing, is always in the mouths of the world and is a genuine celebrity. What is that Mary has that makes it so appealing in the media and the global brands?
MJ: I think it's more than your physical appearance.
She gives herself to tennis, body and soul, and gives everything he has on the court and people are attracted to that.
Soon, you have an attractive girl who indulges in a sport, body and soul which creates a good combination.

· SP: Now a part related to his professional relationship with Mary, as she felt with her to achieve all the achievements she accomplished?
MJ: I was honored to be present in all she has done. We worked hard together and for me it was good to know that I was part of his success.
There is no doubt that a coach can help you and motivate you but is the player who has to go to court and play. I could train many people in the same way and they would never have the results she had.
It is necessary to be a very special person to achieve what she has achieved and I was lucky to be part of it.

· SP: We know your relationship coach / athlete temporarily ended, what happened exactly?
MJ: Basically we decided it was best for her to train with another coach, because after so many years a change can be good.
It is always difficult for a player to have two coaches, whether I want the leaders are Thomas and thought the right thing was to get me for a while because otherwise she could not take full advantage of what Thomas has to offer and now she wants to try it.

· SP: So but what fans can expect the Michael and Mary return to work together, since it was temporary?
MJ: I think it is very likely that we work together again.
I have no plans to work with most any player. I have been on the circuit nearly 20 years ago and now I'll take some time off. Maybe work with some promising juniors and enjoy my time at home.

· SP: What about Thomas? Do you expect this relationship?
MJ: Thomas is a great motivator, it works and most importantly believe in Mary.
Only time will tell if he can help or not.

· SP: What is the tennis player or tennis player Maria that you most admire? When she was little more who followed him?
MJ: I think the Maria Monica Seles admired but she does not like to watch tennis.
I know that she respects the great Federer and Nadal, the ethics of their work, and how good they are.

· SP: Many consider Mary arrogant, even convinced this is true?
MJ: It is not arrogant for sure!
It's hard for her because almost everyone wants something from her.
Even when fans see her to eat and will ask for an autograph or photograph, she understands their side, and is always very polite and friendly and will sign autographs necessary but if I spend my days doing this is not fair to her because prevents her from truly enjoy your life. And the women's tour is very hard, many girls are envious and jealous and it is difficult to make friends.
But she has a big heart, loves his family and closest friends and is very fun, it's great to be with her, always have fun, I miss her already.

· SP: How is Maria in practice? Perfectionist?
MJ: It is definitely a perfectionist but I think all the good players are. She always wants to improve. Sometimes it gets a little frustrated but that's normal, it happens to everyone. When she's in court she puts everything you have in your game.

· SP: What for you is the source of Mary being a player so strong mentally?
MJ: I think she is mentally strong from a young age, I think you're born with it.
You can invest in it and improve but my experience tells me that you can assert yourself as a boy as a strong person mentally.

· SP: Mary's personal life has changed a lot lately, she got engaged, many people say that she is different and that is not as strong mentally as before, he thinks that Mary is still just as focused on tennis?
MJ: The life of Maria runs beautifully, Sasha treats her like a princess, that is what she deserves and I'm so happy.
It is normal to lose a bit of motivation at the beginning when we are in love, but now I think she is very determined and a period of "honeymoon" is over.
She was very focused and trained hard in the off season and even had good results last year.
I think clearly when your life runs you out of court as well, and you're happy, it's only going to help the court, you just have to find the right balance and I think she is working on that.

· SP: Good results?
MJ: Yeah, sure that Maria will not be satisfied until we come back to win Slams and be No. 1 worldwide. And she wants to win every tournament he enters and is why it is a champion.
However, he did not play so many tournaments as you like because of the elbow injury he had and that clearly affected the rankings, however, was the final in five tournaments and won two. She is not making excuses and just admit defeat.
She really wants to return to the top and I think the only thing she needs is a good victory that brings you the confidence to put on the route of a Slam, and I believe that will happen soon.

To us, we can only say, THANK YOU AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHAEL!

London Olympics is my biggest goal, says Sharapova

MOSCOW | Wed Feb 2, 2011 9:01am EST

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Former world number one Maria Sharapova, who is still looking to rediscover her best form after shoulder surgery, is excited at the prospect of competing at next year's London Olympics.

"The Olympics is my biggest goal in tennis and my dream is to represent Russia in London," Sharapova told reporters on Wednesday.

The U.S.-based Russian missed the 2008 Beijing Games due to a shoulder injury.

Sharapova, 23, is in Moscow for this weekend's Fed Cup first-round tie against France, making her eligible to compete for Russia in London.

She won three grand slam titles before turning 21 but has struggled for form since a nine-month lay-off following a shoulder operation at the end of 2008.

Sharapova is ranked 13th in the world and was knocked out in the fourth round of last month's Australian Open, a tournament she won three years ago.

The Russian is especially excited about the 2012 Olympic tennis event because it will be played on the grass courts of Wimbledon where, as a virtually unknown 17-year-old, she captured her first grand slam in 2004.

Sharapova also said she was eager for her Fed Cup home debut after making her first and only other appearance for Russia in the women's team competition against Israel three years ago.

"It was very tough playing in Israel because the crowd was really noisy and didn't behave very well," added Sharapova who led Russia to a 4-1 victory in February 2008 by winning both her singles matches.

"I'm sure we'll have the crowd on our side here in Moscow and they won't throw nuts and other things at us during matches like we had in Israel."
