I just realized that it was her left ankle that was twisted at last year's US Open.
I wonder if that injury just never healed properly.

Das ganze spekulieren ohne Hintergrundwissen bringt doch absolut nichts. Und immerhin schreibt sie nicht, dass sie noch Schmerzen hat, das finde ich eher positiv. Vielleicht braucht es einfach noch etwas mehr Reha.

Das glaubst du doch nicht im Ernst. Ihr nächstes planmäßiges Turnier wäre frühstens Quali San Diego. Sie wird jetzt eh bald nur noch Qualis und wohl auch ITF-Turniere spielen, weil ihr Ranking bis Jahresende ins Bodenlose fallen wird.

Also bei einer 4-monatigen Sprunggelenksverletzung und mit ihrer extrem starken Verletzungsanfälligkeit kann man sehr wohl vom Karriereende reden. Man hat schon bei anderen gesehen, wie schnell die Karriere beendet wurde. Außerdem darf sie ja praktisch wieder von vorne anfangen, nämlich bei ITF-Turnieren.

Ist eher selten der Fall, wer einmal verletzungsanfällig war, der bleibt es auch, siehe z.B. eine Julia Babilon. Bei Lisicki glaube ich erst an ein Comeback, wenn sie mal wieder ein volles Match durchsteht und das hat sie seit 5 Monaten nicht erlebt. Ich erinnere nur daran, dass sie ja angeblich schon zum Fed Cup zurückkommen wollte. Will ihr Umfeld uns eigentlich für dumm verkaufen!!!

Man operiert sowas heute nur noch selten, weil sich der Effekt gegenüber der konservativen Therapie in Grenzen hält, in Studien statistisch nicht signifikant nachweisen lässt. Allerdings dauert die konservative Therapie. Bänder wachsen recht langsam wieder zusammen, so dass man den Fuss nach Bänderriss ca. 8 Wochen in einer Schiene ruhig stellen sollte. Danach kann man vorsichtig mit der Mobilisierung anfangen. Sinnvoll wäre somit eine Pause von mindestens 3 Monaten. Sonst riskiert man eine Instabilität im Sprunggelenk mit einer Umknickneigung.

Aber wie gesagt - wir wissen ja nicht, ob sie sich bei den US Open überhaupt einen Bänderriss zugezogen hat.
