That was awful. Parra Santonja is one of the most useless players I've ever seen. Her serve is surprisingly good for someone of her level, but that's it. Most pushers are at least good at keeping the ball in play and/or have a shot they can hit with reasonable depth and consistency under pressure, but not this one.
Venus was terrible at times in the second set, and a decent player would have taken it to a third.

Just saw some of the 2nd set and Parra actually had her chances.Venus is through but she struggled a bit.

The first set was pretty easy for Venus as Parra wasn't getting much consistency to hurt her but in the second set it seemed as if Parra got used to Venus' strokes and general pace of shot and thus started to elongate the rallies (she was basically more competitive), however, more often than not Venus always came out on top especially on the important points such as break points and game points.
All in all, that match was key to Venus as it tested her consistency in that second set. A bit of a dip in form as more errors resulted but she got it done in two straight sets and thats all I can ask.
Onto the next round.
