But that's just an opinion.
I agree.

Both Williamses are arrogant. The difference between them is Serena is more childish and crude ,while Venus is more social. But they all believe they are the best, and others players can't compete to them when they play their best. Maybe this is because they are taught by their dad ? lol

And I agree Serena actually knows Justine's worth and hence she feels threatened. Therefore she is always hostile to Justine and rarely give her enough credit and respect.

Arnian, IMO, it's all an act. I have heard a few sarky remarks from Serena which leads me to believe that nothing has changed, nor ever will it. When they are both retired I think the truth will out.

I like to believe the good in people but as the above video shows, I was naive

I still can't hear that she says the name, but that could be my headphones.
Too bad, I'm disappointed. But then again, it means Serena is still not over it, so... too bad for her.

You know this is going to open up a can of worms and just on the eve of RG.

Actually, maybe that's her intention

Re: Justine's clay season - discussion thread

Lady, you've got Venus down to a tee. lol. I think it is that arrogance that caused her to never fine tune that game of her's. But at the same time, she never gives much a hypocritical attitude, what you see is what you get. She barely gives opponents straight out compliments but when she does she means it.

I never, ever thought Serena changed towards Justine. I could never be fooled by her. I remember clearly after saying something nice or whatever to Ju (in 2006/7?), she went on NATIONAL tele and stirred the flames re 2003.

She is what you saw 10 yrs ago. It often takes a deep life changing experience coupled with a desire to change, for people to change or mature. It doesn't happen often in this life.

Even so, I still can't believe she would say something like that to JJ.

Re: Justine's clay season - discussion thread

I tuned in at 3/3 final set and I thought Serena served pretty well with some well controlled ground strokes. She was really using angles even more but JJ wasn't given her much variety. The one slice J hit, it resulted with an error from Serena.

I think Serena was tired towards the end and JJ was exhausted.

Ana lost to MJMS and I am not too surprised.lol.

I think I can hear it clearly that indeed she did say that. What a disgrace for her to mention Justine here. She should be responsible for herself and act like an adult instead of dragging someone into this. Apparently she's not gotten over what happened 7 years ago. She just didn't grow up. What a shame.

Yep, I also think that it's the reason Venus never actually worked on her forehand or serve more. During so many years she could have improved it already. But sometimes it all works for her and then she's very impressive.

As for Serena, kida funny that Justine's still on her mind. I did thought that she grew up and got over it, but then again US Open incident was just last year, so I'm not sure why I was delusional about that))

Re: Justine's clay season - discussion thread

One part of me wish Justine would hear about this (JJ may tell her) so she would know the hypocrite she is dealing with ala Mauresmo, another part of me think it best she doesn't hear it so she isn't burdened by the thought that Serena may still dislike her lol. But I don't know if Justine is really affected by those who don't like her; still she's so deeply emotional, and adept at hiding her emotions, one never knows.
