Does anybody think Serena....
Will only play 4 tournaments this year? Due to her bad knee, she skipped Miami. The only tournaments that matter to her more are the slams. Plus with the US Open flap, maybe she doesn't care about showing up at the mandatories.

While I wanted to see Serena in Miami, I am fairly certain that her knee has been a problem. She was a finalist last year and has won the tournament 5 times. She considers it her home. Its on hard courts. If her knee weren't a real problem she would be playing. She obviously cares enough to be at the tournament and has watched most of Vee's matches.
I hope her knee is fine and she can play a full clay court preparation leading into the French.
