Her medicine comment really makes her return unpredictable. It's baciscally a crap-shoot. If the medicine she has been try out if the right one the we'll see her soon, if it's not we won't see her till 2013. I'm positive we'll see her back though. As soon as she finds the right medicine and she can trust her body to hold up I don't see why she can't win titles or slams again. From a match up perspective it would be like shes a new player on tour, generation "Deep" has not played her at all yet so they would have to get used to her game. The future looks good for her if she can get her body to cooperate. I don't see her retiring unless the medicines are ineffective across the board.
- She used to know how to play tennis...
Cronin just tweeted that Venus has entered Charleston..
"I want to do things on my own terms, I can't have anything take me out.
I have never given up and it's important for me to prove to myself that I can do this, and to prove to me that i'm a champion.
If I were just to sit down, lay down and give in, then I wouldn't have any respect for myself." VW
Probably a Doha withdrawal. Surely they would have announced the WC instantly if she was interested in one.
But that's good news about Charleston. She's been shit on green clay the past few years that she played on it, but if she's in any type of form then it will be a great opportunity for her to pick up some easy points. The entry list has turned into a joke these past few years compared to what it used to be. Smart of her to play Charleston rather than risk a R1/R2 flop in the strong Stuttgart field.
