Just bought a new TenisKlub magazine featuring big article about Magda.
Some interesting facts:

- Magda studies even during summer holiday in Poland in order to pass matura very well
- Her surnames is because one of soldiers from Napoleon army fell in love to Polish woman
- At the beginning, her father was a coach but later her parents were getting divorced and Magda was not in good relations with her father, so they decided to split up
- Magda was not very confident during hard times in her family, it was very long proccess for Magda to regain her confidence, it came back this year
- she loves Tatra and Bieszczady mountain but she doesn't have time to travel there
- she wants to study after matura and she wants to choose an interesting studies as she says herself
- if you want to see her in a public place, you can see her sometimes in Stary Browar shopping centre with Kasia Piter or Basia Sobaszkiewicz
- she doesn't have a boyfriend she would like a boyfriend who would understand her as a sportsman but not a tennis player because then she would see him even more rarely
- she claims that she likes in herself most is the obduracy
- she's very modest and she has some complexes, she feels offended very often even if this was a minor thing and if someone wants to turn her into bad mood, it's quite easy
- she likes to read internet message boards about her even though her coach bans it
- but she feels very confident on court right now
- her best friend among abroad players is Heather Watson, they want even to spend holidays together

Linette (WTA 195), trzecia rakieta kraju, przed rokiem po długiej walce uległa w I rundzie Białorusince Milewskiej. Wtedy rywalki jej jeszcze nie znały, była szarakiem w rozgrywkach zawodowych. Dziś nikt nie chce na nią trafić w losowaniu, ale ktoś musi: padło na Holenderkę Richel Hogenkamp (WTA 251), która dwoiła się i troiła, ale w najważniejszych momentach decydowała wola walki Linette (7:6, 6:4).

Pierwsze spotkanie 18-latki z Grunwaldu trwałoby krócej, ale po szybkim początku faworytka zaczęła mnożyć błędy. W tasiemcowym gemie przy 4:2 Linette obroniła pół tuzina break pointów (jednego także asem), ale w końcu Hogenkamp odrobiła przełamanie a potem wyszła na 5:4. Linette podbramkową sytuację sprokurowała podwójnym błędem serwisowym, co jej się w tym roku raczej nie zdarza w tak delikatnych momentach.

Przy setbolu, po swoim drugim serwisie Hogenkamp wpakowała piłkę w siatkę. Break pointa chciała obronić przy siatce, ale i to jej się nie udało, więc zrobiło się 5:5. Linette wciąż wtedy nie odzyskała jeszcze ognia w ramieniu, ale choć pojawiły się trzy szanse na przełamanie dla Holenderki, Magda wszystkie obroniła wygrywającymi uderzeniami. Jej zabójczy forhend mógł też zrobić wrażenie na suce fox terriera, która w międzyczasie wpadła na kort i zaaportowała piłkę (choć nikt o to nie prosił).

Po zlikwidowaniu niebezpieczeństwa przegrania otwierającego seta Linette miała dwa pierwsze setbole przy 6:5 (Hogenkamp zaczęła głośno podejrzewać o ślepotę, tudzież polskie obywatelstwo sędzię spotkania). W tie breaku blondynka z Flandrii straciła swój pierwszy punkt serwisowy i Linette do końca meczu już nie dogoniła.

W czwartek w 1/8 finału rywalką Linette będzie obchodzącego tego dnia 24. urodziny czeska kwalifikantka Kateřina Klapková (WTA 825).

I watched the final. Magda lost mainly because her serve was off in important moments (though she brough it back in the 3rd set, unfortunately lost her. She should have also put more risk on MP, not only push the ball fast with a big amount of spin in order to force her opponent to make mistake. She played brilliantly, some beautiful winners - forehands, backands, drive volleys but mainly backhands. Unfortunately she lost those big points at the second part of the match.
Hopefully she can have a revenge this week in Prerov.
