由于２１日深夜才从布鲁塞尔的赛场赶往巴黎，２３日便亮相女单首轮比赛，所以抵抗力下降的彭帅来到罗兰·加洛斯后就有些感冒。２４日与郑洁轻松舀下女双第一场比赛后，彭帅的病情有些加重。“昨天晚上咳嗽得很厉害，然后去找大会医生，说我呼吸道有些感染。但是，他们也不敢给我开太多药，怕我比赛犯困。”

２５日上场面对不曾过招的赫尔佐克，彭帅一开始还有些小忐忑，一是感觉对手还挺适应红土赛场的，二是担心自己体力跟不上。然而，在呼吸都有些困难的情况下，彭帅还是努力发挥着自己的进攻优势。

“２：４落后时，我就想着一分分地追。”就这样，彭帅后发制人获得首盘胜利。第二盘眼见对手没了气势，彭帅也没有放松。“我还是提醒自己不要乱，不要走神。”

彭帅的发布会还吸引了一位意大利记者，因为这位２５岁的姑娘很有可能在第三轮遭遇卫冕冠军、意大利人斯基亚沃内。展望比赛，彭帅表示自己很期待和斯基亚沃内再次较量。虽然对手跑动迅速又擅长红土比赛，但她还是会竭尽全力一搏到底。

2011 RG WS R3: franny def shushu by retirement 6-3 1-2 (shushus leading 3-1 in the first set and 2-0 in the second set). poo poo posters said shushus very sick and shouldnt have played this match at all.

noctis said franny said "bullshit" to shushu when shushu needed to take a medical timeout. and one of the commentator kept "bullying" at shushu.

不过比赛中彭帅几次回身咳嗽，第一盘第9局斯齐亚沃尼的发球局中，彭帅就不停的咳嗽。第二盘彭帅在保住自己首个发球局后便将医疗人员叫入场内，此时情况已经非常严重了，但贝贝还是又坚持打了 2局。第3局局间过后，彭帅再次“呼唤”医疗人员进场，并且简单交流后做出了极为艰难的决定-中途退赛。 I'd the same experience too when I didn't take medicine to get rid of the cold. I couldn't resist to cough.

此时心情极为难受的彭帅用毛巾掩面，而眼泪也禁不住流了下来。随后比赛监督站在彭帅身边，贝贝与之进行了交谈，然后彭帅起身走到斯齐亚沃尼的座位前与意大利老将简单交待后用一个拥抱恭喜意大利老将晋级，然后彭帅又和法国籍主裁判巴奇握手。尽管身体不适，但彭帅还是转身向看台挥手感谢球迷的支持。 What a nice girl.
