i think it's a great idea. there's some players that are probably too tough for her, but i think she can compete with most of the entry list.

someone should tell her the orange bowl is on hard, not clay

oh, did they? i had no clue. is it still on key biscayne? i didn't think that facility had enough clay courts for such a big event

She hasn't played in a while but Donna reached a new singles CH ranking this week: #643

She'll be on her way to Nigera soon, if not already!

A few months back, when we heard about her plans to play several pro events this year, I "predicted" (or, better to say, claimed possible) that she could finish this year inside top500. And it turns out that it's not outside the realm of possibility.

In these two upcoming 25k's, she would need one R2 and one SF to make it. Of course, luck would have to be there to help out with the draw a bit, but wouldn't you say it's possible?

Unfortunately, a QF wouldn't do it, not even two QF's would do it - based on current points a R2 and a SF would just barely be enough (maybe even not entirely enough for a clear top500 finish of the year).

Here's hoping she can get as close as possible to acomplishing that

Yup, it's the black continent...have you seen/heard the tv signal quality we were getting from South Africa during the DC weekend? Hard to believe that's possible in the 21st century.

in a draw full of byes, she drew one of the few players with WTA experience...Melanie Klaffner, 6th seed, ranked just outside the top300, but with a CH in the top200
